2023 Trends I am loving

Moody laundry room

We are already two months into 2023 (hard to believe)! And so I wanted to round up my absolute favourite home interior 2023 trends I am loving so far! It looks like the all white everything has gone out the door and warm, earthy, natural elements has entered the house!

1. Moody rooms

I don’t know about you but I am excited about this one! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think white will ever be “out”. It’s timeless and I love a good white room. However there is just something about a moody room! Earthy colours are trending hard right now, and my guess is they will be for a while!

2. Wallpaper

I remember in my early childhood years in Germany, my family would wallpaper just about every room in our house. It is very common in Europe and have never really seen it here, however its been more and more popular. The floral bold granny wallpaper is making a come back and I’m not mad about it! In fact we just wallpapered our guest bathroom! You can read more about it here!

3. Wood accents

This was also trending in 2022 and we are seeing it even more in 2023. From wood flooring to ceiling, furniture or even kitchens. Wood is very popular right now and it is no surprise! What is not to love about it? It feels grounded, it’s a quality environmental friendly material and gives a warm lived in vibe. I hope this one sticks for a while!

4. Texture

Everything is about texture this year. The more the better! Vertical shiplap and wallpaper are trending for wall treatments this year. Wooly furniture, textured throw pillows and rugs, heavy curtains, natural elements like trees or branches, dried flowers for decor, you name it! Texture is the name of the game this year, and it adds so much depth and dimensions to a room.

5. Vintage Decor/Art

I loved vintage and antique before it was cool haha! I’m glad to see this one trending because there are so many treasures out there! Mixing old with new is the thing this year. Home decor, heavy solid wood furniture, art, little nick nacks are very popular at the moment. I also love this trend because I am a passionate thrifter and there is nothing like finding a good deal!

And these are just a few of my favourite things! That being said I hope you remember that just because something is on trend doesn’t mean you need to love it. If you don’t that is totally ok! You do you, and whatever you like. Some of these trends will probably phase out eventually anyway like they usually do.

I hope you enjoyed my post today, I had a lot of fun with this one!

Let me know what trend you are loving at the moment in the comments!

Love, Inez
