Hi, I’m Inez!
I’m a mother, thrifter, homemaker and a child of the most high. I’m passionate about DIY, food and home design!
Currently I live in a small town in MB, Canada with my wonderful husband Thomas and our two sweet, energetic girls.
Here are a few fun facts about me. I moved from Germany to Canada when I was 9 years old.
Got married at the very young age of 18 (Don’t tell my girls!).
I absolutley love country living and wouldn’t mind living on a farm one day. I have always been a creative person and always needed an outlet.
During the shabby chic era I started flipping furniture and then when that was slowly going out of style my husband and I started a little buissness building furniture. It got to the point where we were both burned out and couldn’t keep up with orders when we decided to call it quits. It wasn’t worth the money to steal our sanity and our precious time with our kids.
Back in the day Thomas and I binge watched Fixer Upper. We always loved doing projects together, but now that little flame was fuelled we embarked on more renovations in our starter home. We even built a sauna on a trailer! It was always a dream to one day buy a fixer upper but the opportunity never presented itself. One day we saw this beautiful 2 acre lot and so we embarked on our building adventure.
Now that my kids go to school and I have more time, I needed something to keep me busy and needed a creative outlet, and so my account @onlakeshore drive and this blog was born.
There I started documenting our house build but it kind of turned into a little bit of home projects, decor, DIY and simple recipes. I just love tips and tricks on how to have a beautiful house on a budget, and creating yummy recipes with only a few ingredients.
My goal is to inspire you here! I hope the projects and recipes or whatever else we are up to motivate, inspire and make you feel encouraged.
