Wall scones are all the hype this year and all for good reason, they don’t take up a lot of room on a nightstand and look stunning and modern. The best part is they don’t even need to be hardwired if that’s not something you want to do. How you ask? Rechargeable powered light bulbs! This makes wall scones possible for anyone!
2. Bolder colour choices
Darker moody earthy colours are trending big time in the interior design world! This can also be seen in master bedroom trends. Darker greens, greys even black are more and more seen. Earthy tones like browns, beiges and even into warm shades of red are trending!
3. Mismatched furniture
There is no longer the need to buy matching furniture sets for your bedroom. If that’s your thing then go for it! However it is now no longer trending having a complete matching set, but curating a room from different quality pieces that all fit into a colour palette and still match in some ways. This is a good thing for the wallet because you can look for quality affordable pieces separate from each other and this way your furniture comes out a bit more affordable.
4. Quiet luxury
Quiet luxury is gaining popularity especially in the younger generations. Mind is given that the furniture are quality and sustainable pieces. Bed sheets that are natural and sustainable materials like cotton or linen are favoured. Subtle details like patterns, finishes and textures play a big role in this kind of style, resulting in spaces that seem effortless chic without being too flashy.
5. Less throw pillows
I’m sure our husband will be thankful for this one! Throw pillows seem too slowly be heading out the door and just simple lumbar pillows are favoured. This goes hand in hand with a more simplistic and minimalistic mindset that is also very popular currently.
6. Romantic flow
Creating a space that is safe and beautiful, a safe haven if you will, is the idea behind a romantic chic bedroom style. Long flowing drapes, oversized bedsheets, lots of texture in a bright yet warm room is gaining popularity.
7. Beams on ceiling
This stems from the farmhouse style that has been trending for the past few years and has evolved even into a modern transitional home style. Designers like Joanna Gaines or Studio McGee also love using beams especially in bedrooms to add character and warmth to a space.
8. Mixing old with new
Mixing old with new is very much trending this year and I love it because this adds so much character and warmth to a space. Thrifting and antiquing is now cool, I repeat thrifting and antiquing is now cool! This goes hand in hand with creating spaces that are more sustainable and affordable while still adding tons of visual interest and character. This allows for spaces that are classic, timeless and stunning if done right.
9. Cute nooks
Cute reading nooks, window seating, or intentional zones within your bedrooms are making a come back. This makes a space more functional practical and fun! It also adds a tons of character!
10. Natural materials
Natural materials are highly favoured over cheap bog box store quality furniture pieces. Materials like woods, metals for bed frames or linen, cotton and flax are popular. This results into a environmentally friendly, earthy, and sustainable bedroom and who doesn’t want that?
