Puff Pastry Croissants

If you ever need something for coffee or tea in minutes then you will love these super quick and easy croissants. I usually have a few packages of puff pastry sheets in my freezer if I ever need to whip up a dessert in minutes! If you like almonds and hazelnuts in pastries then you will love these!

Lets go over what you need

Ground hazelnuts: I had whole hazelnuts at home so I used a processor to ground them. You can buy directly ground hazelnuts or process your own.

Ground almonds: The same goes for the almonds! I ended up using almond flour, but you can process your own from whole or sliced almonds.

Milk: For milk I just used regular dairy milk, however any milk works for this. Plant based or dairy!

Sugar: For sugar I used regular white sugar. I can imagine that other sugar like brown or cane sugar would work as well, but it might change the texture a bit!

Puff Pastry Sheets: You can definitely make your own puff pastry, and that would probably even better! However I just used frozen bought puff pastry sheets that you can find in the frozen isle.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup ground hazelnut
  • 1/2 cup ground almond
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 sheet puff pastry

Step 1: Defrosting the puff pastry

This step is very important because if you don’t defrost you puff pastry then you won’t be able to use it. I took mine out of the freezer about 30- 45 minutes before I wanted to use them.

Step 2: Preparing your ingredients

While the puff pastry Is defrosting its time to prepare the nut mixture! Once you have the ground nuts mix them together with sugar and place it in a bowl. Also prepare the milk and pour it into a bowl. Prepare a baking sheet and set your oven to 375F.

Step 3: Preparing Croissants

Once the puff pastry sheet is defrosted its time to roll it out and then cut into triangle shapes. Following that the triangles then can be dipped fist into the milk and then into the cut mixture, making sure both sides are coated. Then roll the croissant, starting from the wide end.

Step 4: Baking

Now all you have to do is bake them at 375 for about 15-20 minutes! I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
