1. Use drawer dividers

Drawer dividers are so underrated and can make such a big difference! I use them in just about any drawer, may it be in the kitchen, the bathroom or your bedroom drawers. They can be used to separate eating utensils, cooking utensils, socks, underwear, in the cosmetic drawer, the possibilities are endless!

2. Use clear storage bins

Clear storage bins have a few benefits that you don’t want to miss! With clear storage bins it is easy to see inside without you having to open them. You can store them on top of each other and still know what’s hiding in the bottom one. They keep things uniform and organized and are perfect for seasonal items!

3. Implement the 6 months rule:

I like to go by this rule with almost any item in my house other then seasonal items, and it goes as follows: If it hasn’t been used in 6 months it goes! Donate, sell or throw it out. If you don’t have a use for it then it doesn’t deserve to take up space in your life. This will also help stay clutter free.

4. Use baskets

Baskets can change your life, believe me when I say this! They can hide things so well and look pretty doing it too. They are prefect for the pantry, kids toys, under the bed storage, mudroom organization, and the list goes on!

5. Declutter one space at a time

If you are anything like me then you will need to follow this rule. I get so easily overwhelmed with cleaning and decluttering, especially if I start with one thing and then start something else, my brain just shuts off and I leave it all. That is why it is important to focus on one space at a time. Ignore the other messes and other rooms and focus on one task until it is completely done and then move on to the next thing. You got this!

6. Use Labels

Labels will keep things organized and especially if you have things stored away in boxes that aren’t see through you will be able to know what is where with it being labeled. It will end up saving you time and energy when things are easily identifiable.

7. Use planners

To stay organized with all of the tasks at home it is so helpful to have a planner! Writing lists and dumping your brain on to paper so to speak can make tasks less stressful, lessen the anxiety around it and also help to remember everything and to stay organized. I hope these free planners will help you with exactly that!

8. Everything needs a home

Just like every person needs a home, so does every item! If lets say your kids helmets don’t have a home it will be flying around the house creating clutter. Try making a home for everything for example a basket for your mitts and hats, a drawer for extra linens, a ladder for throw blankets etc. If you do this then your house will be less cluttered and make clean up so much easier!

9. Have a donate/sell bin

Staying organized and on top of the clutter might be difficult, however having a couple of designated bins for the items you no longer have a use for can be helpful. Simply drop it off at a thrift store, or post the items for sale when full and keep your home organized over time!

10. Less is more

Minimalism was really trending for the past two years. Remember Marie Kondo? She had some valid points! It’s simple math, when you have less then it’s there is less to clean up. Consider having one item, and not 5 of the same, but only using one of them. Consider a capsule wardrobe, less throw pillows, Mayne only 5 pairs of shoes instead of 10. You get it!

Decluttering and organizing your home will make more time in your life for things that really matter. Spending more time with your loved ones, hobbies and spending stress free time at home. I hope these tips were helpful to you!

Love,

Inez
