1. A classic wreath
A wreath made from natural elements like fresh or faux greenery, adding pine cones or a pop of red with cranberries and mistletoe. I can smell the the picture, and nothing says Christmas like a fresh greenery wreath!
2 Christmas Tree
Decor like glass ornaments , tinsel and red and burgundy colours are all trending this year for Christmas trees! Opt for a tradition faux or fresh tree and consider adding a angle or star to the top.
3. Vintage decorations
Incorporate vintage decor like ornaments or a train around the tree for a nostalgic feel. Old fashioned toys, family heirlooms or glass ornaments.
4. Garlands
If you have stairs with a railing then this is the perfect opportunity to dress them up with a garland, twinkling lights and bows! There isn’t much to it but a beautiful classic way to decorate for a classic Christmas!
5. A lot of DIY
Back in the day when stores weren’t overfilled with all kinds of Christmas decor people made their own Christmas decor. Lot’s was foraged from outside, like pine twigs for wreaths, acorns or pine cones. Garlands were made from dried oranges or popcorn or other creative items. Handmade stockings, bows, candles and the list goes on! So many wonderful classic DIY ideas what to make yourself for Christmas.
6. Embroidered Ornaments
If you like embroidery then consider making your own embroidered Christmas ornaments! How cute are these? SO unique and special especially if they are handmade!
7. Red Bows
Red bows were always a classic, but especially trending again this year! Think about all the things you can dress up with red bows. Christmas trees, wreaths, garlands, on gifts, the list is endless!!
8. Bells
Jingle all the way! These have been so trendy, especially the last couple years, however they are also an ancient and classic way to decorate for Christmas!
9. Christmas Village
This one is so nostalgic for me! I remember how my parents set up a Christmas village underneath the Christmas tree and I laid there peeping into the tiny windows and being mesmerized, imagining the little people coming alive.
10. Advent Wreath
I love this one, it is especially popular in Europe! Tradition is you craft a wreath or an arrangement with four candles, and for each Advent. Then lighting one candle each Advent, until all four are burning on the the 4th Advent, meaning Christmas is right around the corner!
