How to find free winter art prints on the internet

The internet is full of free art that you can legally download, print and display. You can even legally sell these images because they are images without a copyright attached to them! These images are found on the public domain.

There are tons of websites where you can find them, I will list my favourite below. The trick is in finding the right images for you and sometimes that takes some time and scrolling. That is why I compiled my favourites for you to save you the time!

If you want to do more searching yourself then try these websites I listed below, and simply enter keywords of what you are looking for. For example “skating in winter” or “roses painting”.

How to download and resize your art

Once you have found the image you have to download and possibly resize your image. Before you do this it is helpful to already have a frame for the art so you now what size you need. Now you can download in the proper size, and if they don’t have the option for the size you need, then download in the best resolution and head over to Canva to resize.

I do all my resizing through an app called Canva, its very user friendly and easy to use. They have a free version and a pro version, but the free version works perfectly fine for resizing.

These are the steps to take:

  • I open the app and create a free account
  • Now click “Create new design”
  • Now select “custom size”
  • Here you want to enter the size you need for your frame. For example “8×10 inches”
  • Now upload the image and adjust the image to the blank page
  • All that’s left to do is to save the image and viola, you just resized your image.

How to print your art

When its comes to printing your art there are a few different ways you can go about it.

OPTION #1

If your art is small enough(8×10, 5×7, 4×6) then print your art at home! If you have a printer at home then this is the easiest option! I would use high quality stock paper or watercolour paperfor vintage art to make them seem like real paintings.

OPTION #2

Have your art printed at a local print shop like staples, Walgreens, Walmart or whatever is local to you.

OPTION #3

Print your art online! There are many online print shops where you can easily upload your image and order in different sizes, finishes and on different kinds of paper. Places like Shutterfly, Mpix, Vista Print, Optimal Print, just to name a few. The rule of thumb is to print the image on the type of paper the original image would have been on.
